Editorial & Affiliate Policy

AuraNote earns a small commission on some purchases made through the app. This page explains exactly how alternatives are selected and how that's disclosed.

1How dupes and alternatives are chosen

The Dupe Finder ranks cheaper alternatives from a maintained list of known budget and clone houses — no brand pays to be included or excluded. Real community "reminds me of" votes (sourced from Fragrantica) always rank first and are marked with a "community" badge; if there aren't enough of them to fill the results, the remaining slots are filled with a note-overlap similarity heuristic instead — so a fragrance's alternatives can be a mix of community-sourced and heuristic-based matches, not strictly one or the other.

2Affiliate links & disclosure

Every "Check Price" button in the app links to a retailer through an affiliate program, and carries one of these disclosures directly beneath it:

3Editorial independence

A fragrance's ranking, family classification, and prominence score are computed the same way regardless of whether it has an affiliate link. Affiliate relationships affect which retailer a buy button points to — never which fragrances get ranked, classified, or recommended higher.
